Larger than life rocker STEVIE NICKS was given the best birthday present last Friday - the reunion of FLEETWOOD MAC. The seventies folk rockers reformed their original line up of Nicks, LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM, MICK FLEETWOOD, CHRISTINE McVIE and JOHN McVIE, for the first time in 15 years. And during the historic reunion gig in Los Angeles, Buckingham roused the 2,000 strong crowd in singing 'Happy Birthday' to Nicks. The red-faced singer, who turns 49 on Monday (26MAY97), said, "This reunion is cool but I'd sooner pretend that my birthday did not happen." Drummer Fleetwood organized the University of Southern California TROJAN MARCHING BAND to support them in their mega hit TUSK. And the star-studded audience was led in a standing ovation by Fleet wood mac fan COURTNEY LOVE and her actor boyfriend EDWARD NORTON who were sat in the second row of the sound stage studio in Hollywood. Other celebrities at the special comeback gig, which was being taped for a music extravaganza for a music cable channel, included AIDAN QUINN, WINONA RYDER and supermodel CINDY CRAWFORD. Crawford, who was flanked by her boyfriend restaurant owner RANDY GERBER, said, "It's great that this reunion is happening. I have been a fan of Fleetwood Mac since the sixth grade (Age 12 years old) when first RUMOURS came out." The five members of the band have spent the last two months recording three new tracks for a live album out in August (97). And the EVERYWHERE hitmakers kick off a world tour in September (97).
