"Fleetwood Mac - The latest Mac attack reunites Fleetwood, Buckingham, Nicks, Christine McVie and John McVie

- Jeremy Helligar

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Rumours, the third biggest-selling album of all time in the U.S., Fleetwood Mac's quintessential line-up (Stevie Nicks, now 49, Lindsey Buckingham, 49, Christine McVie, 54, Mick Fleetwood, 55, and John McVie, 51) regrouped in May for an MTV special, which is documented here. The Dance features old songs, and the quintet manages to make oldies like "Dreams" and "The Chain" sound as inspired as they did when the lyrics - which detail Nicks and Buckingham's rocky romance - actually rang true. Buckingham's solo acoustic version of "Big Love" is especially moving now that he sings it with age-appropriate, world-weary resignation rather than brash anxiety. Still, given the single-worthiness of the four new tunes on the album, one wishes Fleetwood Mac would retire the fossils and get busy making history all over again. (Reprise)
